As live music gradually returns from a year-long hiatus due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Denver, Colorado remains one of the best cities in the country for its energizing music scene. While Red Rocks Amphitheatre has jumpstarted its 80th season, venues around the Rocky Mountains have started opening up their doors to the deprived live music fans eagerly waiting to dance at shows again.
Jiving up Denver’s electronic music scene is Denver-based duo Forrest Pump. Set to perform at Your Mom’s House this Saturday, May 1st for the venue's late show, the mid-tempo house duo will perform ahead of funky house partners The Sponges for their Colorado debut.
While this won’t be Forrest Pump’s first show back of 2021, the duo is excited to perform at one of Denver’s most eclectic venues and share some new, unreleased tracks with current and new fans in attendance. Comprised of Jeff Barlow and Rich Allison, the duo records its music from live instrumentation, from keys, drum pads, guitar melodies, and even their own vocal samples.
“Forrest Pump prides ourselves on a broad range and collective mix of musical styles, anything from house to mid-tempo house, bass music, and even a little glitch hop. It’s part of the fun to make it fluid and take fans on a ride each set,” Barlow said.
Forrest Pump has also used their downtime over the past year to work on new music, with having nearly 10 songs ready to be released over the upcoming months. In case you can’t make Saturday night’s show, Forrest Pump will be touring across the country this summer on a “on-the-road” tour as they perform at seven festivals in five states, including Nashville, TN’s Maypop Music and Arts Festival in June.
Limited tickets remain for Forrest Pump and The Sponges' late show at Your Mom's House on May 1st here.
