In just two short weeks, Colorado-based progressive rock sextet Eminence Ensemble will host and headline the inaugural Elevation Music Festival. Taking place at the scenic Alma Town Park in Alma, CO on August 12th-13th, Elevation Music Festival will be the highest music festival in the world, sitting at over 10,500 feet.
Located just 30 minutes outside of Breckenridge and under two hours from Denver, Elevation Music Festival is poised to be this summer’s best intimate and live music experience. Attendees will enjoy two full days and nights of top-tier Intermountain West jams courtesy of hosts Eminence Ensemble, as well as sets by respected locals Flash Mountain Flood, Dog City Disco, Jack Cloonan Band, Split Window, and more. Scroll down to see the full lineup.
Electronic duo Snakes and Stars will also make their debut at the inaugural festival. Comprised of Michael Travis (The String Cheese Incident) and Aaron Johnston (David Byrne Band, Brazilian Girls), Snakes and Stars will feature the two top drummers exploring various idioms of electronic and dance music in a live, improvisational format. Relying on a combined 60 years of live music experience, Travis and Johnston utilize vocals, synthesizers, electronic pads and triggers, drum kits, guitar, bass, and samples to create one of a kind musical experiences, in the moment. The band finds its inspiration in deep electronic roots from minimal, trance, techno and house along with contemporary electronic stylings like trap and dubstep.
In addition to the music, attendees will have direct access to some of the best mountain terrain to explore through hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and more. The festival will also offer on-site camping for the weekend, included in the ticket price.
"This is a unique event in the highest incorporated city in the world. Eminence Ensemble has its roots in Summit County so Alma is the perfect location to bring our fans together for an intimate music weekend experience. The views within the town are breathtaking. We’re capping the event to only 500, so it will be a special immersive mountain music experience," Elevation Music Festival founder and EE drummer Tanner Bardin said.
While some festivals lack the convenience of nearby amenities, Elevation Music Festival hopes to “elevate” attendees’ experience. With its location in the heart of the town, attendees will have easy accessibility to everything they may need for the weekend, including groceries and supplies at the AL-MART General Store as well as local mountain food and drink offerings right across the street at South Park Saloon.
A limited amount of tickets are still available here. Camping is included, with the option to choose your own camping setup within a tent, car, van, or RV. For more information, visit the festival's website.
